The officials for the 2023 African Women’s Champions League include Nigerian female referee Yemisi Akintoye.
After a one-week pre-tournament course, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) picked Akintoye, a University of Lagos graduate, as one of the 12 referees.

On Monday, CAF affirmed her involvement.
She will be officiating at an important African competition for the first time.
In2021, Akintoye received a FIFA referee badge.
Among the arbiters that CAF has shortlisted is Salma Musaganda of Rwanda, who became the first African woman referee to officiate at the men’s World Cup.
