Five Cameroonians have reportedly been detained by the Adamawa Command of the Nigerian Police Force on suspicion of taking part in the attempt to kidnap Emmanuel Ebel, a resident of Jambutu in the Yola-North Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Yola.

According to him, the crime was stopped thanks to solid information that a good Samaritan provided that resulted in the arrest of all illegal aliens.

“Emmanuel Ebel, a resident of Jambutu in the Yola North local government region, was the target of an organised crime plot that was thwarted by the Command Operatives assigned to the State Intelligence Bureau.

After receiving the information, the command set up a security perimeter around the target and, fortunately, engaged the alleged kidnappers.
Chubrandom Safinga, 30, Ibrahim Tala, 32, Ngosso Ndjombe, 28, Mmai Rostand, 32, and Nossu Ngambewo Ricky, 27, were among the suspects mentioned by Nguroje.

“All illegal immigrants from the Cameroon Republic in the adjacent country were detained for 20 minutes before they carried out their organised crime.”

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sikiru Akande, also directs them to sustain the tempo as a strategy for crime prevention,” he said, praising OC SIB and his men for their professional demeanour and valour that resulted in their arrest.

According to Nguroje, the police commissioner asked locals to always report the whereabouts of criminals and their associates to the authorities.
