Nigerian soldiers have captured notorious bandit kingpin Habu Dogo, a significant move in ongoing efforts to curb banditry and restore security.
During recent operations in Sokoto State, Nigerian troops successfully captured Abubakar Ibrahim, also known as Habu Dogo, a notorious bandit leader.
In another operation in the Southeast, troops also apprehended seven individuals suspected of being commanders from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, reported that Dogo was apprehended in Rumji Village within the Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto.
Reports suggest that he is on the watchlist of security agencies in both Nigeria and the neighboring Niger Republic because of his involvement in cross-border terrorist activities.
