According to UK TELEGRAPH, 33-year-old Nigerian Saheid Azeez, who obtained asylum in the UK by pretending to be gay, not only fathered three children with three different women but also orchestrated a £220,000 scam.

Azeez allegedly created a network of people within 14 months, using their homes to accept goods from online sellers who sent products before receiving payment.

According to reports, he bought the products from websites such as Facebook Marketplace and eBay, gathered them, and sold them at his brother’s electronics store in Wigan, a city in the northwest of England.

He split the proceeds in Bitcoin with his partners and received a percentage of the sales.

A total of 272 individuals were deceived into sending used devices, such as cameras and smartphones, without getting paid.

The Telegraph of UK reports that Azeez was granted permission to relocate to the UK after asserting that Boko Haram extremists in Nigeria were harassing him because of his sexual orientation. After receiving refugee status, he made his home in Wigan, Greater Manchester, and fathered three children by three distinct women.

Unusual package behaviour in North Manchester connected to Azeez prompted police to launch an inquiry. He tried to conceal three iPhones used in the fraud inside his son’s school bag before he was caught as he was leaving him off at school.

In addition, he was connected to the establishment of 37 anonymous bank accounts under six separate identities that took cryptocurrency as part of the scheme.

Prosecutor Andy Evans stated that the phones demonstrated Azeez’s involvement in the internet scams, which comprised contacting electronics vendors in the UK and convincing them to ship goods prior to receiving payment.

Azeez entered a guilty plea to conspiring to commit fraud by deceitful representation and to plot the acquisition of illicit property. He is currently recognised as bisexual and might receive a six-year prison sentence.
