BREAKING: Nigerian Govt Lowers Electricity Tariffs for ‘Band A’ Customers

Published

on

The electricity tariff for Band A customers has been decreased by the Federal Government, as announced by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). Initially set at N225/Kwh for a minimum of 20 hours of daily supply, the new rate is now N206.80/Kwh.

Ikeja Electric relayed this information to its customers through a notice on Monday, specifying the revised tariff for Band A feeders. Effective May 6, 2024, customers in this category will now pay the reduced rate, ensuring a daily supply of 20–24 hours.

It is important to note that while the tariff adjustment applies to Band A customers, the rates for Bands B, C, D, and E have not been altered. This change aims to provide more affordable electricity to a specific group of consumers while maintaining consistency for others.
