Nigerian Govt Directs Defence Chiefs, Minister to Relocate to Sokoto for Security Measures

In response to rising insecurity, the Nigerian government has ordered the Defence Chiefs and the Minister to move to Sokoto to enhance security efforts.

To combat the threats of banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism in the North-West region, the Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle and other military leaders have been ordered by the Federal Government to relocate to Sokoto State.

In a statement, Henshaw Ogubike of the Ministry of Defence’s Information and Public Relations department revealed this information.

As part of a stepped-up endeavor to eliminate banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in the North West region, the government declared that the directive has been issued.

The government at the federal level conveyed grief regarding the actions of terrorists and bandits within various states and their surrounding areas. The statement clarified how this tactical measure emphasized the resolute dedication to reinstating tranquility and safety in that zone.

As per the statement, their duty in the North West region involved overseeing operations and ensuring that Bello Turji along with his Bandits crew were eliminated.

Videos featuring a Nigerian military Armoured vehicle stranded in a waterlogged location have been disseminated by these delinquent bandits.

Late at night, the officers were instructed to retreat in order to prevent potential ambush by bandits. Afterwards, the bandits went over to a flooded area where they recorded a video of an Armoured vehicle that was stuck and celebrated their achievement.

The event occurred in Kwashabawa, which is situated within the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara.

President Bola Tinubu’s substantial support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria makes it unacceptable.

The North West region’s continued menace of banditry and terrorism is causing great concern to the Federal Government.

The statement asserted that they are prepared to utilize all essential resources in order to eradicate these unlawful groups and reinstate tranquility within their societies.

To facilitate unrestricted movement of citizens, the government declared a pressing need to take action against terrorists.

The people of Sokoto, Katsina, Zamfara and Kebbi states in the North West region can rest assured that no efforts will be spared by security forces to purge the area of bandits.
