The Federal Government has stated that it is prepared to remove all Nigerian students and other Nigerian community members who are stuck in Sudan as a result of the ongoing crisis there.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs’ permanent secretaries, Dr. Sani Gwarzo and Amb. Janet Olisa, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ permanent secretaries, jointly issued a press release to make this announcement.

The statement read, “We are currently preparing to evacuate all stranded Nigerian citizens via air transport through the identified safe transit areas back home.”

Therefore, the federal government asked parents to warn their children from traveling on risky routes since it is making diligent efforts to secure their safe return to Nigeria.

The students should try to keep their composure and be in frequent contact with representatives of the Nigerian Embassy in Sudan for instructions and updates while coordinated attempts are undertaken to evacuate them.

The following telephone numbers can be used to contact embassy staff: +2348035866773, +249961956284, +2348063636862, +249961956274, and +2349066663493.
