In preparation for Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly Elections, the Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered that all land borders be completely closed.
This was stated in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by the Service Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tony Akuneme, on behalf of the Comptroller General, NIS, Isah Jere.

According to Jere, the land borders must be effectively blocked from Saturday at midnight to Sunday at midnight on February 26.
As a result, he stated, “all command comptrollers, particularly those in the border states, are to ensure thorough enforcement of this mandate.”
