The Nigerian Army has suspended a Brigadier General following serious allegations of corruption, signaling a commitment to accountability and integrity within the military ranks.
The Nigerian Army has announced the suspension of Brigadier General MA Sadiq, the former Commander of the 3 Brigade in Kano. He is currently undergoing a military investigation related to significant administrative discrepancies that occurred during his tenure.
Reports suggest that General Sadiq is accused of diverting rice provisions meant for soldiers and selling military equipment, such as generator sets and operational vehicles, to scrap yards.

It has been reported that these accusations have led to his detention in a military police guardroom in Abuja.
Army spokesperson Major General Onyema Nwachuckwu announced in a statement on Wednesday that General Sadiq has been removed from his command to allow for a thorough investigation into the allegations.
Nwachuckwu highlighted the Nigerian Army’s dedication to discipline, justice, and accountability. He asserted that the army upholds a zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline and will not accept any behavior that compromises its fundamental principles.
He promised the public that a comprehensive investigation would be carried out to address the accusations against the senior officer.
