The Nigerian Army has urged the public not to be duped by phoney job recruiters online, claiming that it does not carry out recruitment drives through proxies or through unauthorised channels and people.

According to a statement from Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, the Army exclusively recruits in accordance with the provisions of the Harmonised Terms and Conditions Service Soldiers, Rating and Airmen, Revised 2017 Edition.

The alert comes in response to a recent hoax recruitment scheme by a man posing as Major General called Gwabin Musa.

On Facebook and other social media sites, the fictitious general is believed to have conducted fraudulent recruitment drives on behalf of the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
