Nigerian Air Force: “We have driven out the last of the terrorists in Northeast
The remaining militants in the Northeast have reportedly been driven out, according to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The terrorists were driven out of the area by Operation Hadin Kai’s air component, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF’s director of public relations and information.
The development, according to Gabkwet, occurred after Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), gave the forces orders to march.
In order to eliminate any remaining terrorists, insurgents, or other criminals operating in the region, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai carried out an early-morning air attack at Suwa in the Kala Balge Local Government region (LGA) of Borno State, according to the statement.
According to Gabkwet, intelligence assessments showed that terrorists had gathered in the region ahead of preparations to assault soldiers who were patrolling along important roads to the local government regions of Bama and Mafa.
Additional data also showed that the same terrorist organisation had prepared a strategy to assault troops stationed near Rann in Kalabalge LGA, the speaker continued.
The NAF official claimed that the airstrikes neutralised numerous terrorists and destroyed the bases of the criminals.
In every combined operations theatre, the statement asked Air Component Commanders to maintain the momentum.
