Eniola Badmus, a Nigerian actress, has commenced her responsibilities as an assistant to Tajudeen Abbas who holds the position of Speaker in the House of Representatives.
In May, Badmus was appointed as Abbas’s special assistant for social events and public hearings. On Thursday, she posted pictures on Instagram of a meeting with Abbas at the National Assembly.
Badmus reported that the gathering, which was held at Abuja’s National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), had Senate President Godswill Akpabio in attendance alongside Abbas’ appointment as speaker.

“As per Badmus’ update on Twitter, the NILDS governing council has been officially inaugurated this week by @speakerabbas and Senate President Godswill Akpabio,” stated the report.
The National Assembly’s research and academic arm is NILDS, which functions as a center for education and an engine of skill development. Its primary goal is to improve our legislative procedures through the aggregation of knowledge.
“Providing technical and analytical support, along with offering thorough and trustworthy legislative research for legislators, their aides, committees, and the legislative bureaucracy both in Nigeria as well as other areas falls under NILDS’s mission.”
Throughout the years, the Institute has been instrumental in fortifying legislative bodies by means of their exhaustive research efforts, auxiliary services for legislators, educational initiatives and examination of policies.
Badmus has garnered widespread recognition since venturing into the film industry in 2008. She boasts an impressive portfolio of both indigenous and English-language films, having accrued multiple accolades along the way- including her notable win as “Best Actress of the Year (Yoruba)” in 2014.
