In Rivers State, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Alh. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are trailing Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is running for president.
Tinubu won two of the councils, while Obi won one, according to the results of the three local government areas that were announced on Sunday at the INEC collation centre in Port Harcourt.
Atiku received 1,506 votes, Obi received 486 votes, while Tinubu received 9,442 votes in Tai Local Government Area.
Tinubu received 5,701 votes in Opobo-Nkoro, followed by Obi with 2,093 and Atiku with 1,542 to win the council.
However, in Ahoada-West, Obi received 4,634 votes, closely followed by Tinubu (3,443) and Atiku (2,582).
Johnson Sinikiem, the Rivers State Electoral Commissioner, and Prof. Charles Teddy Adias, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Otuoke, served as the returning officers.
According to PlatinumPost, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State supported Tinubu’s nominee for president, Atiku Abubakar, in the PDP primary.
