Kidnappers in Niger murdered three individuals, including a hotel owner, after collecting a N25m ransom. Read the full tragic story.
Despite receiving a ransom of N25 million, the kidnappers who took a hotel owner, his manager and a guest in Gauraka community, Tafa Local Government Area have tragically executed their captives.
Abubakar Muhammad and Ibrahim Garba, two local vigilantes delivering the ransom, lost their lives during the incident that transpired in the early hours of August 17th, 2024.
As per City & Crime reports, the corpses of the sufferers were discovered within the vicinity of Dogon-Daji Forest. The area functions as a boundary between Kaduna, Niger State and Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Afterward, they got carried to an Air Force installation situated near Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport located in Abuja.

The burial of the vigilantes was confirmed by Hussaini Abubakar, who leads the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in Tafa. He stated that it took place on Saturday after receiving approval from the military.
Furthermore, a man who was abducted from the community one month ago has been rescued with injuries caused by gunshots and is presently undergoing medical attention at an army healthcare center located in Abuja.
At approximately 1 am, the kidnapping operation was initiated as the perpetrators stormed into the hotel and compelled all inhabitants to depart against their will. Onlookers confirmed that during their departure, gunfire was discharged by the abductors creating commotion in public over this criminal act. Despite having a nearby security officer on duty, they chose to flee after encountering assailants.
The mounting assaults have fueled the exasperation of local inhabitants, who have observed that the marauders regularly carry out their activities in close proximity to woodlands and major thoroughfares such as Ijah-Koro and Ijah-Gwari roads, which connect with Bwari town situated in FCT.
At least five kidnapping incidents have occurred in Gauraka within the past four months, highlighting an immediate requirement for enhanced security measures in the region.
