Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Demands: ‘Stop Using My Name to Fight Political Battles

The Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Prof Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has issued a warning to politicians in Nigeria regarding the misuse of her name and image for their own agendas.

She responded to a viral post that falsely claimed she criticized the subsidy removal policy of the Bola Tinubu administration and the subsequent increase in Nigeria’s debt profile.

Okonjo-Iweala clarified via her verified Twitter account that the post was fake and urged individuals to refrain from attributing false statements to her.

She emphasized that she will continue to refute any attempts to misrepresent her views for political purposes.
