The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Mr. Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the victor of the gubernatorial race on Saturday in the early hours of Monday.
Olajide “Jandor” Adediran of the PDP received 62,449 votes, while Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the LP received 312,329 votes, leaving him with a total of 762,134 votes against his primary rivals.
Mr. Sanwo-Olu received the most votes in the race and 25% of the total votes, according to INEC Returning Officer Adenike Oladiji, who also declared the results.
She said that 19 of the state’s 20 local governments were cleared by the governor.
In Ikeja, Apapa, Badagry, Lagos Island, Epe, Agege, Ibeju-lekki, Kosofe, Surulere, and Somolu, she said, Mr. Sanwo-Olu received the most votes.

Others include Lagos Mainland, Alimosho, Ojo, Ikorodu, Mushin, and Oshodi-Isolo as well as Eti-Osa.
Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area was the only local government area where Mr. Rhodes-Vicour prevailed.
