All of the Service Chiefs that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently appointed are currently meeting behind closed doors.
The Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General C.G. Musa, the Chief of Army Staff, Major-General T. A. Lagbaja, the Chief of Air Staff, AVM H.B. Abubakar, the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, and the acting Inspector-General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun, are all present at the meeting, which just started at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Remember how Tinubu shocked the country by appointing new service chiefs to replace the outgoing ones just before his recent travel to Paris, France, to attend a finance summit.
Malam Nuhu Ribadu, a former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had also been chosen by Tinubu to succeed Babagana Monguno as the National Security Advisor (NSA).
While the new service chiefs have now started working, Nigerians’ opinions to their appointments have been mixed.
As President of Nigeria, Tinubu will officially meet the new Services Chiefs for the first time at the current meeting.
