The Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its plans to merge with other political parties in the country in order to form a strong and powerful front that aims to remove the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in 2027.
The National Chairman of the ADC, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, revealed this during a press conference held in Abuja.
Nwosu criticized the APC for its failure to meet the needs of Nigerians and rated the government poorly in all aspects.
He emphasized that the opposition will not remain passive and witness the nation’s decline, stating that the current state of the country is disheartening and instills a sense of fear.
Instead of engaging in futile debates with the government, Nwosu stressed the importance of strategizing to develop a new political system.

He called for unity among political parties to create a collaborative and value-driven ecosystem that prioritizes the people and the country.
Nwosu expressed the need for a fresh start and highlighted that transformational leaders do not engage in blame games.
He mentioned that 22 political parties have already joined forces with the ADC to establish a new mega party.
Nwosu emphasized that the ADC is open to working with all political leaders who recognize the importance of coming together for the betterment of Nigeria.
Nwosu pointed out that the APC itself was formed through a merger of opposition forces, which successfully ousted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power in 2015.
Observers have noted the significant impact of major opposition parties like the PDP, Labour Party, and the New Nigeria People’s Party in the previous election, suggesting that a united opposition could have potentially defeated the APC.
As a result, prominent figures such as Prof. Pat Utomi and now the ADC have contemplated the formation of a mega party to dislodge the APC in 2027.
The goal is to create a new Nigeria that will lead the continent out of its current challenges and bring about positive change.
