Dr. Musa Aliyu was confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday, and President Bola Tinubu swore him in as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission’s substantive chairman.
At 12:24 p.m., as the Federal Executive Council was meeting in the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja, Aliyu took the oath of office.
On October 16, 2023, Tinubu named Aliyu with Mr. Clifford Oparaodu, the Secretary to the Commission of the ICPC.

The Nigerian Senate must confirm a candidate for Chairman, but not for Secretary to the Commission.
“Therefore, Mr. Oparaodu’s appointment as Secretary of the Commission takes immediate effect,” stated Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.

In October 2023, he was also designated as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Prof. Tunji Olaopa, the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, was also sworn in by the President.
At 12:30 p.m., Olaopa took the oath of office, and eleven other Commission members did the same.
