After months of arduous training at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kachia in Kaduna state, the Nigerian Army has graduated a new group of combat-ready troops to address instability in the nation.

This was said in a statement released on Friday in Abuja by Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations.

The graduation ceremony, according to Nwachukwu, included a practical demonstration of military manoeuvres, showcasing the troops’ newly learned competencies in tactical manoeuvre, physical proficiency, advance shooting drills, the Warrior ethos, unarmed fighting, among other crucial abilities.

He said that the training programme, code-named “Exercise Restore Hope V,” aimed to prepare Nigerian Army personnel who had just graduated from the Depot for the difficulties faced by the threats’ dynamic nature.

Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, addressed the graduating troops and stated that the goal of the exercise was an endeavour by the Nigerian army to close noted holes in its operations through targeted, adaptable, and efficient training.

According to Lagbaja, the purpose of the training was to produce highly qualified and capable personnel for operational engagements across all theatres.

He continued by saying that the training is in complete accord with his command philosophy, which is to “transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force, towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.”

Exercise Restore Hope, according to the COAS, will provide a special post-depot training model intended to improve the professionalism and combat preparedness of cadet soldiers.

He emphasised that investing in training was a crucial step in achieving operational success and said that a country that prioritises paying soldier training will spend less on waging wars.

In order to establish a safe and secure environment for socioeconomic development, he expressed pleasure with the level of training and performance of the troops during the demonstration drills and urged them to put the skills and information they had learned to use.

The COAS thanked President Bola Tinubu for his steadfast support of the Nigerian army and also thanked Mohammed Badaru, the Minister of Defence, and Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, for their work in building the army’s capacity to carry out its constitutional mandate.

Lagbaje advised soldiers to abstain from all social vices, maintain professionalism, and show loyalty to the Nigerian Constitution and Government while giving a tour of the facilities of the Nigerian Army School of Artillery, which is situated in the same Kachia.

He reaffirmed his intention to put ensuring their welfare at the top of his list of priorities for the Nigerian army.

For the benefit of both staff and kids at the school, he took advantage of the occasion to officially open the school bakery.

Maj.-Gen. Sani Mohammed, the Army’s Chief of Training, stated at the graduation that the soldiers’ gruelling 16-week training had given them the necessary military fortitude to adjust to the nation’s highly dynamic security situation.

Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters, the General Officer Commanding the 1st Division, the Commandants of the Nigerian Army Schools, and the Heads of Security Agencies in Kaduna were among the dignitaries present at the occasion.

His Royal Highness Zamani Dogonyaro, the Agom Kachia of the Kachia Chiefdom, and delegates from the Kachia Local Government are also present. (NAN)
