The nomination of Mustapha Adamu Indabawa as the new managing director of the state-owned Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV) and nine other parastatal officials has received the approval of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This is indicated in a statement circulated to Kano news organisations on Wednesday and signed by the governor’s principal press secretary.
According to the announcement, the Governor had also given his approval for the appointments of Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar as Director General of KAN-INVEST, Dr. Hamisu Sadi Ali as Director General of the Debt Management Office, and Hon. Salisu A. Kabo as Director General of Youth Empowerment.
Yusuf Kabir Gaya, Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Hamisu Dogon Nama, Managing Director of Kantin Kwari Market, Abdulkadir B. Hussain, Managing Director of Sabon Gari Market, and Dr. Kabiru Sani Magashi, Acting Managing Director of KASCO are the other individuals the Governor appointed.
The other two, according to the press release, are Engineer Abubakar Sadiq J., Deputy Managing Director, Kano Line, and Aminu Aminu Mai-Famfo, Deputy Managing Director, KASCO.
According to the statement, the appointments, which took effect right away, were made “pursuant to the quest of placing appropriate hands to improve good governance.”
It further stated that the Governor had charged the appointees to faithfully serve the state’s citizens and uphold the trust that had been placed in them by applying their wealth of expertise to the performance of their duties.
