NECA applauds the FG and organised labour for the settlement of the strike
The Federal Government and organised labour were applauded by the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) for their decision to halt the country’s ongoing strike.
The compliment was given by Mr. Smatt Oyerinde, director general of NECA, in an interview with the OBASANJO NEWS24 on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, organised labour has vowed to go on an indefinite nationwide strike on October 3 to press their demands regarding the impact of the loss of the fuel subsidy, which has caused the general public to endure unspeakable hardship.
Oyerinde claims that we applaud the logjam’s removal. This supported our steadfast belief that social discussion is still the most effective method to tackle any problem.
The needless disruption of economic activity has been avoided, it is vital to note.
“The government must honour its promise and carry out the conditions of the resolution, and labour must likewise ensure increased productivity to get the manufacturing wheel turning.
“Employers will continue to insist on, and advocate for, a peaceful industrial environment as a pillar for economic and national reinsurance,” he declared.
