Ndume Vows Never to Criticize President Tinubu
Senator Ali Ndume pledges never to criticize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing his commitment to supporting the administration’s efforts for national progress.
Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South senatorial district, expressed that his high regard for President Bola Tinubu prevents him from being a critic.
Sen Ndune has been outspoken about the economic situation under Tinubu, emphasizing that the President is being misled by his advisers.
The senator, who appeared as a guest on Channels Television’s program Politics Today on Tuesday, denied accusations of being opposed to President Tinubu personally. He clarified that his criticism is directed solely at the policies.
“I am not criticizing the President personally, but rather his policies. I do not consider myself a critic of our government; it is indeed our government.”
“I don’t criticize my elders; being the son of a soldier, I was brought up to respect them in the barracks. Tinubu is one such elder whom I honor, though we have our differences on certain matters which I hope can be resolved,” Ndume stated.
When questioned about a popular photo showing him and Tinubu looking happy, he explained, “He often mentions that I never visit the Villa. I responded by saying it’s because he hadn’t invited me, to which he replied that I could come over tonight.”
“He [Tinubu] mentioned that he would attend my daughter’s wedding, even though it was on the same day as the Nigerian Army Remembrance Day. After the ceremony, I thought he would leave, but he insisted on staying for the wedding. That’s exactly what happened.”
Addressing the nation’s significant challenges, Ndume encouraged the President to prioritize executing the federal budget and focus on essential areas such as security and welfare.
I’ve always communicated to Mr. President that implementing the budget is key, and it will make Nigerians happy. Focus primarily on two areas: security and citizens’ welfare; everything else will fall into place afterward.
