Every year on June 26th, the Day is celebrated with the theme “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention” in 2024.

He also provided a breakdown of the 1,165 individuals detained, stating that 1,119 of them were men and 46 were women.
Out of the 1,165 people detained, he claims the command prosecuted 203 suspects and succeeded in getting 109 of them found guilty during that time.
Regarding the command’s initiative to reduce drug demand, Danmallam said that it has made great progress in treating and rehabilitating drug addicts as well as anti-drug sensitization.
According to him, the command counselled 67 people and rehabilitated 76 people throughout the review period.
The commander went on to say that the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking was being observed in order to increase action and collaboration in
reaching the goal of a drug-free planet.
The World Drug Day campaign this year acknowledges that science, research, and the full range of negative effects drug usage has on the economy and health in order to establish effective drug regulations.
The subject for this year is “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention,” which is an appeal to increase public awareness, support investment, empower local communities, encourage communication and cooperation, and advance evidence-based policies.
He added, “It is a call to empower youth, engage communities, and advance international cooperation.”
