In the previous week, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents have carried out interdiction operations in three states, intercepting 2,684,900 tramadol pills and seizing other prescription opioids.
This was said in a statement made on Sunday in Abuja by Mr. Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s spokesperson.
250,000 tramadol and exol-5 pills, as well as 1800ml of codeine, were found in Mubi, Adamawa, according to Babafemi, neatly hidden in the reserve fuel tank of a caravan from Onitsha, Anambra.
He claimed that Hussaini Ibrahim (also known as Bafu), a dealer, had been detained in relation to the drugs found.
He claims that on February 13th, along the Okene-Abuja motorway in Kogi State, 279,000 tramadol 200mg and 225mg pills were discovered from a suspect named Hammajan Suleman.
A Toyota Corolla used by another suspect, Moses Alabi, to transport the shipment from Edo State to Kano State and 376 blocks of skunk totaling 229.36 kilogrammes were also turned up to the NDLEA, he said.

He claimed that a patrol unit from the Nigerian Army did this on February 14 in Lokoja, Kogi.
At the Abuja-Kaduna express road, soldiers apprehended two suspects, Chinonso Obiora and Christian Nnachor, who were in possession of 300,000 Exol-5 pills and 1,843,900 Diazepam tablets.
In contrast, Christopher Maduka was detained on Saturday, February 18, along the Abuja-Kaduna motorway with 10,000 ampoules of pentazocine injection, according to Babafemi. On Monday, February 13, they were handed to the Kaduna State Command of the NDLEA.
“In Kano, Amadu Musa and three other people were apprehended with 53 blocks of cannabis weighing 41.9kg, while Ahmed Suraj Rabiu was detained with 89 bottles of codeine syrup in the Badawa region of the state.
“In Niger, Abdullahi Isah, a trans-border trafficker, was detained while attempting to enter the Niger Republic with 188 chunks of skunk weighing 107 kilogrammes along the Jebba-Mokwa route.
He said that Ibrahim Isiyaku had been found along the Nguru-Kano route in Yobe with 24kg of marijuana of the Arizona kind and 2,000 opioid pills.
Babafemi reportedly reported the arrest of four individuals for drug trafficking: Babagana Abdullahi; Muhammad Ali; Usman Abubakar, a Chadian; and Ibrahim Yahaya.
The suspects, according to him, were detained in connection with the recovery of 22.1kg of exol-5 and 61.45kg of cannabis in Jigawa State, with follow-up operations in Kano.
He explained, “Usman ordered the consignments with the intention of transporting them to Chad.
