NDLEA seeks assistance from Osun hunters to combat cannabis cultivation
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) Osun State Command has urged citizens to work with the organisation to put an end to cannabis production, with a special focus on hunters.
At a workshop on Monday in Osogbo, members of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service heard the appeal from Ganiyu Adeloye, the NDLEA Assistant State Commander, Administration and Logistics.

Adeloye bemoaned that people growing cannabis had rendered some areas of Ilesa inaccessible and urged hunters to assist the agency in putting an end to the illegal plant’s growth.
“If we allow people to not use hard drugs, there will be a significant decrease in crime and other vices in our society,” he declared. Because they are always aware of information in their various locales and are more familiar with the ins and outs of different communities than NDLEA personnel, we therefore beg hunters to always report criminal activity to us.
“It is with great sadness that I inform you that Osun State has been ranked second in the South West among states that grow Indian hemp,” he continued.
