The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Benue State has achieved significant progress in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
Over the course of two months, the command has obtained seven convictions and apprehended 41 individuals suspected of drug offenses.
Additionally, the agency has confiscated various quantities of psychotropic substances, including 0.187kg of tramadol, 0.055kg of Glutathione, and 16 liters of monkey tail, from both users and peddlers.
The Benue NDLEA Public Relations Officer, Philimon Saror, highlighted the persistent high demand for illicit drugs in the state, which has prompted the command to conduct sensitization lectures to raise awareness.

Various sensitization programs were conducted at different locations, including the Dangote Group of companies, NYSC orientation camp, Centre for Entrepreneurship Studies, College of Education, Katsina-Ala, and NKST Hospital Makar Gboko for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
The command has also taken steps to rehabilitate individuals caught in the act of drug abuse and urges society members to stay away from illicit drugs while parents should closely monitor their children.
