NDLEA successfully arrests two wanted drug trafficking kingpins, marking a significant victory in the fight against illegal drug trade.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended Damilare Ajiboye, also known as ‘Na God’, a notorious drug kingpin who had been evading capture for the past 12 months.

The arrest came after a raid on his warehouse located in the Akala area of Mushin, Lagos.

The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, stated in a Sunday announcement from Abuja that the suspect had been arrested on Wednesday.

He, however, mentioned that the arrest of Ajiboye at a bank in Ogun was the result of well-coordinated efforts by the agency’s Directorate of Assets and Financial Investigation. They had traced 20 bank accounts connected to the suspect and subsequently blocked them.

In a related development, Babafemi announced that NDLEA operatives in Lagos on Friday apprehended Alhaji Bashir Talba, the wanted community leader and Sarkin Yamma of Badagry.

He mentioned that this happened after the arrest of his two wives and son, along with the seizure of a total of 226.2 kilograms of cannabis at their homes in Badagry on September 18.

In a separate operation in Lagos, the NDLEA reported that over 9.7kg of cannabis sativa and 50 litres of “monkey tail”—a fermented mixture of cannabis and dry gin—were seized from a suspect named Florence Moses in the Badore area of Ajah, Lekki on Tuesday, September 24.

Meanwhile, in Kogi, NDLEA operatives arrested three suspects along the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway: Owolabi Dele, 42; Ayodele Monday, 40; and Olawale Ojo, 22.

Babafemi mentioned that the individuals were apprehended while transporting 132 sacks of cannabis, collectively weighing 2,062.00 kilograms, in a Mercedes container truck traveling from Osun to Dei Dei in Abuja.
