NDLEA Arrests 110 Suspects, Seizes 520.385kgs of Illicit Drugs in Kaduna

According to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, or NDLEA, Kaduna State Command, in May, their agents apprehended 110 persons and found 520.385 kg of illegal drugs.

This was revealed to NAN in Kaduna on Friday by its Commander, Mr. Samaila Danmalam.

“The command arrested 110 suspects in May, 105 of whom were male and five of whom were female,” Danmalam stated.

He revealed that the organisation had also taken 520.385 kg of illegal materials, including cocaine, Indian hemp, Tramadol, and methamphetamine.

Ten illegal drug dens were dismantled throughout the state, Danamalam continued.

The command achieved the conviction of twelve individuals and arraigned twenty-two more, according to the commander, during the month under review.

He clarified that the command conducted several sensitization campaigns around the state as part of its attempts to fight the drug epidemic by reducing drug demand.

“This was done in order to counsel and rehabilitate drug-dependent individuals while also educating the public about the dangers of drug use and illegal trafficking,” he continued.

Danmalam urged people to avoid engaging in illegal drug use and trafficking.

In order to help the command fulfil its duty in the state, he urged the populace to provide pertinent and timely information.
