NBA Condemns EFCC Boss for Alleging Lawyers Are Corrupt

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) criticizes the EFCC chairman for profiling lawyers as corrupt, calling the remarks unprofessional and damaging to the legal profession’s reputation.

Affam Osigwe, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, has voiced significant concerns about recent comments made by Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), regarding lawyers’ involvement in financial fraud.

Osigwe recognized that every profession has its share of ethical breaches and misconduct, but he argued that portraying lawyers as the main facilitators of financial crimes is both incorrect and unjustified.

He commented on this during the reveal of the 2025 NBA General Conference logo and theme.
