Ogun State Amotekun Corps personnel have detained a suspected local doctor who was carrying a recently deceased cadaver.

Babatunde Kolawole, a self-described local physician, was apprehended in Ogun State’s Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson in Ogun, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, claiming that the man told the Amotekun Corps agents who apprehended him together with the male body that he was trying to revive him.

Despite not denying the occurrence, the suspect “claimed to be a native doctor who was trying to revive the dead,” according to Odutola.

She stated that it is still unknown how Kolawole “obtained the fresh corpse during the late hours of the night.”

She claimed that no one had come forward to claim the body and that the suspect had not yet provided any additional details on the body’s origin.

According to reports, the body was taken to the Ifo General Hospital for an autopsy “in order to gather more information and solve the case.”

The Sango-Ota Divisional Police Officer has also encouraged members of the public to come forward and share pertinent information about the event.
