Carlo Ancelotti addresses the recent exclusion of Kylian Mbappe from France’s Nations League squad, stating that the decision was out of his hands. Learn more about the context and reactions surrounding this lineup change.
Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, has clarified that the decision to exclude Kylian Mbappe from the latest French national team roster was not made by him.
On Thursday, Didier Deschamps announced a 23-man squad for France’s forthcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Israel, which notably did not include Mbappe, leading to surprise and speculation among supporters.
This latest exclusion marks the fourth consecutive time the player has been left out of the national team.
In comments made prior to Real Madrid’s LaLiga match against Osasuna on Saturday, Ancelotti emphasized Mbappe’s motivation. “Mbappe’s absence from the France squad? That decision was not mine. He is my player, and he is motivated and putting in significant effort,” Ancelotti stated during his pre-match press conference.
“He is training exceptionally well, as is the entire team. It is essential for all players, not just Kylian, to strive to reach their full potential.”
