The well-known musician Teniola Apata, also referred to as Teni, has responded to the modification of Nigeria’s national anthem.
According to the Obasanjonews.com, President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, bringing back the traditional anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
Teni responded by stating that she would miss the new National Anthem, “Arise, O Compatriots.”
She mentioned how the old song brought back a lot of her early memories.

Teni posted, “Arise o compatriots, I’ll miss you, thank you for so many childhood memories,” on her X handle. Love SM, till we cross paths again.
Nigeria’s national anthem, “Arise, O compatriots,” was chosen in 1978.
John A. Ilechukwu, Eme Etim Akpan, B. A. Ogunnaike, Sota Omoigui, and P. O. Aderibigbe wrote the lyrics.
Under the direction of B. E. Odiasse, the Nigeria Police Band played the national anthem.
