857 students from two different main religions have been given scholarships by the Islamic Society of Eggonland (ISE) for the 2023–2024 academic year in Nasarawa State.
According to the split, the campaign helped 208 Christians and 546 Muslims.
The data also showed that, of the 857 beneficiaries, 517 were men and 340 were women.
The secretary general of the organisation, Umar Abdullahi Gale, briefed reporters in the state’s Nassarawa Eggon local government area. He stated that among the beneficiaries are students pursuing PhDs, Masters degrees, undergraduate degrees, polytechnic degrees, nursing schools, and colleges of education.

He claims that while shortlisting candidates for the scholarship, students studying law, engineering, and other relevant subjects with expensive tuition are given precedence over courses in the social sciences and arts.
Additionally, Mr. Galle clarified that while the programme was originally intended to benefit Eggon Extractor’s impoverished pupils, it has since been extended to encompass all native tribes as well as all Nigerians from low-income households living in the state.
According to him, the 2023–2024 scholarship pool is the biggest since the program’s launch ten years ago. Of the 857 awardees, 526 were first-time applicants, and 331 were previous or current recipients.
“Students from many academic subjects, genders, and religions are included in the scholarship programme, which is highly inclusive and diverse. He said, “We are dedicated to helping students who have the capacity and the drive to realise their aspirations because we think that education is essential to empowerment and growth.
