The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, has been cleared of all charges by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly committee looking into the diverting of palliatives.
The hearing in Lafia was presided over by Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman of the Committee, who affirmed the clearance and declared Ango to be innocent following rigorous investigation.
Ango had clarified that he was simply in charge of supporting duties and wasn’t actively involved in dispensing the palliatives.
Hon. Bello Akoza, the Overseer of Ekye Development Area, and Dr. Nawani Aboki, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Abdullahi Sule, were also invited by the committee to discuss their responsibilities in the distribution of palliatives in Ekye Development Area.
The committee chairman, according to a story in the DAILY POST, said that the committee’s willingness to complete a thorough job and the interest of justice dictated that they be invited.
Additionally appearing before the committee to discuss his role in the distribution of palliatives was Amb. Timothy Maikasuwa, the Karu Local Government Area’s Commissioner for Special Duties on Security and Public Matters.
Others from the Nasarawa South Senatorial District have commented on their respective distribution roles in the meantime, including other commissioners and chairmen.
During the hearing, Hon. Jafaru Ango was supported by Councillors, the Karu Speaker, and Hon. James Thomas, the Chairman of the Karu Local Government Area and Overseer of Karshi.
