CBN Governor, Ifeanyi Emefiele, speaks during the bank’s 286th MPC meeting in Lagos

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has launched a countdown clock for the expiration of the N200, N500, and N1,000 notes now in circulation on January 31, 2023, on its website.

When Obasanjonews24 visited the apex banks’ website on Monday, it discovered this.

Remember that the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, announced a Naira redesign strategy on October 26th, aiming to issue new notes for the three circulating naira denominations of N200, N500, and N1,000 notes.

Despite praise and criticism for the CBN’s naira redesign announcement, the CBN persisted on moving through with its implementation to purify the nation’s economy.
