Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed confidence that the naira will continue to strengthen against the dollar. He emphasized that President Bola Tinubu, who understands the dynamics of the financial market, will ensure the sustained appreciation of the naira.
Shettima made these remarks during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its President, Gabriel Idahosa, at his office in the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In a statement released by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President highlighted Tinubu’s efforts in ending fuel subsidy and unifying the multiple exchange rates.
He explained that the previous system had led to the overnight creation of billionaires, causing instability in the value of the naira.

Shettima further stated that while some people celebrated the fluctuation of the naira, they were confident in the leadership’s ability to reverse the trend.
Shettima praised Tinubu’s leadership during his tenure as the governor of Lagos, acknowledging that it laid the foundation for the remarkable development witnessed in the state today.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for providing the blueprint that has contributed to the progress and growth of Lagos.
The Vice President concluded by reiterating his belief in Tinubu’s understanding of the financial landscape and his commitment to ensuring the continued appreciation of the naira.
