NAHCON Announces 2025 Hajj Fare, Southern States to Pay More

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has released the 2025 Hajj fare, with intending pilgrims from southern states expected to pay higher fees than their northern counterparts.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that the Hajj fare for 2025 will be N8.7 million for pilgrims from Southern States, whereas those coming from Borno and Adamawa Zones will need to pay N8.3 million.

Abdullahi Usman, the Executive Chairman of NAHCON, announced on Monday via a statement released by Fatima Usara, the commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, in Abuja.

The fare for pilgrims from the Northern Zone has been established at N8.4 million. Professor Usman clarified that this amount was decided upon following comprehensive consultations and collaboration with key stakeholders.

He also recognized the invaluable support provided by the presidency and the Forum of Executive Secretaries from State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions that played a significant role in contributing to the process.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by its Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, is delighted to reveal the hajj fare for the 2025 season.

“The fare was announced following approval from the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria.”

The cost for intending pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zone to participate in the 2025 Hajj is N8.33 million.

Likewise, for those planning to undertake the 2025 Hajj from the Southern states, the cost is N8.78 million. Meanwhile, pilgrims from the Northern zone will pay N8.46 million.

He stated that the leadership of NAHCON, in partnership with Ameen Amshi, who is the special assistant to the president on special duties and a representative from the presidency, made every effort to keep this year’s Hajj fare consistent with previous charges.

This modest fare adjustment was achieved following extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity in this important decision-making process.
