NAFDAC issues warning to Nigerian consumers regarding counterfeit Dano Milk available in local markets

The sale of counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder in Nigeria has prompted a warning from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

In a statement, NAFDAC revealed that investigations conducted by the TG Arla Dairy Product Enterprise company had uncovered the open display of these counterfeit products in the market.

To address this issue, NAFDAC has instructed its zonal directors and state coordinators to conduct surveillance and remove the counterfeit milk powder from circulation across the country.

NAFDAC is urging distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and vigilance, ensuring that they carefully check the authenticity and physical condition of the products. Individuals in possession of the counterfeit milk powder are advised to submit their stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

Furthermore, if anyone has consumed the product or experienced any adverse reactions, they are advised to seek immediate medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

The public is encouraged to report any suspicions of counterfeit or unwholesome packaged food products to NAFDAC, either by visiting their office, contacting them via phone or email, or using the available e-reporting platforms.

Additionally, consumers are encouraged to report any adverse events or side effects related to the consumption of unwholesome packaged food products through various channels provided by NAFDAC.
