NAF personnel visit EFCC office following internet fraud arrests
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Kaduna State Zonal Office was overrun by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) agents on Friday in response to the apprehension of several alleged online scammers.
Among the suspects were some active duty military members.
Around ten in the morning, three Hilux patrol vans carrying soldiers came at the EFCC office located at Number 4, Wurno Road in the capital city of Kaduna State. The soldiers encircled the main gate of the anti-graft commission office, preventing EFCC staff from entering or leaving your offices.
The two federal security agencies were pointing firearms at each other while the Air Force personnel and police officers affiliated with the EFCC got into a yelling war akin to battle.
In response, the EFCC’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, called OBASANJONEWS24 to inform them that the suspects, who included six NAF members and one Nigerian Army service member, had been taken into custody on Monday for fraud relating to the Internet.
The suspects were in the commission’s custody while it completed its investigation and began prosecuting them, according to the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity.
He continued by saying that the commission was a statutory law enforcement body of the federal government and could not be forced to do its official business by a sister agency.
