The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducts precision airstrikes in the Lake Chad region, neutralizing several terrorists and disrupting their activities.
Nigerian Air Force airstrikes have eliminated terrorists in the infamous enclave of Jubillaram, located in the Tumbuns region of Lake Chad.
In a statement on Monday, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters, announced that on Saturday, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) successfully delivered a decisive blow to terrorists.
Akinboyewa also mentioned that Jubbillaram served as both a food storage location and a sanctuary for terrorist leaders and fighters.
Intelligence had earlier connected terrorists in this area to recent attacks, such as the assault on troops in Kareto on November 16, 2024.
In response, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets carried out a strong air interdiction mission, targeting and destroying designated structures used as storage facilities while neutralizing terrorists at the location. Follow-up operations using cannons ensured that any escaping hostile elements were completely eliminated.
The success of the operation was enabled by several days of comprehensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. These efforts confirmed the existence of active terrorist structures hidden beneath dense vegetation.
The destruction of the terrorist enclave, along with their food storage facilities, severely disrupted their logistical operations. Additionally, neutralizing a significant number of fighters reduced their ability to carry out future attacks.
This mission showcases the NAF’s steadfast dedication to protecting our country and its citizens, both independently and alongside surface forces in counterterrorism efforts. The NAF will continue these strong solo and joint operations until all threats to Nigeria’s prosperity and well-being are held accountable.
