The Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA has eliminated numerous bandits in the states of Zamfara and Kebbi.
Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, announced in a statement that troops had launched a series of intense and independent air interdiction missions. These efforts are part of supporting the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s renewed initiative to eradicate all forms of criminality in the Northwestern region.
The statement indicated that Operation FARAUTAR MUJIYA, a targeted air interdiction campaign, commenced with a series of high-impact nighttime operations deep within the notorious bandit strongholds in Zamfara and Kebbi States.
As per the statement, the initial wave of strikes commenced after receiving verified intelligence regarding heightened terrorist activities in regions recognized as strongholds of infamous bandit warlords who had been terrorizing local communities for an extended period.

This operation targeted key sites such as the strategic Sangeko location in Zamfara near the Kebbi border and Ado Aleiro’s heavily fortified enclave around Asola Hill within Tsafe Local Government Area.
