According to Makama’s citation of the sources, “intelligence reports indicating that the insurgents had established a training camp in the village and were converging in an area prior to departing for an attack on troop locations around Lake Chad area” informed the planning and execution of the air strikes at Bukar Mairam.
According to the sources, just a small number of ISWAP survivors were observed to be leaving the area after the fighter planes found and bombed the targets, neutralising dozens of them.
They went on to say that other property and some of the terrorists’ logistics had also been destroyed.
