The ex-Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, was notably missing from the Federal High Court Abuja during the scheduled hearing on Thursday.
The reason for his absence was due to the fact that he was supposed to face charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for his alleged involvement in a money laundering case amounting to N84 billion.

According to the EFCC’s representative, Kemi Phinro, Bello’s absence was attributed to the protection he was receiving from an individual with immunity, which prevented him from being present for his arraignment.
Consequently, Justice Emeka Nwite decided to adjourn the case to April 23rd, allowing for more time to address the situation and proceed with the legal proceedings as necessary.
