According to Defence Headquarters, in the midst of the fight against oil theft and vandalism in the Niger Delta, the military has found stolen crude oil valued at N10 billion.
During the DHQ’s biweekly briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed this.
According to DHQ, the military has killed 2,245 terrorists in the North in the last three months.

“Troops neutralised 2,245 terrorists, arrested 3,682 suspected terrorists and other criminal elements, as well as rescued 1,993 kidnapped hostages and denied the oil theft of an estimated sum of over N10 billion only,” Buba stated. “Among other items, recovered were 9,225,149 litres of stolen crude oil, 2,874,916 litres of illegally refined AGO, 29,900 litres of DPK, and 31,380 litres of PMS.”
“The following comprises and is not limited to the breakdown for the period: 1,169 AK-47 rifles, 36,273 rounds of special munitions in the 7.62mm calibre, 14,764 rounds of 7.62mm NATO calibre, 713 mixed guns, and 9,850 various ammunition,” he continued.
Recall that in just one week, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited claimed to have found 165 illicit refineries in the Niger Delta.
