The minister who was just recently confirmed, Abbas Balarabe, alleges that he slouched during the Senate’s screening because he was tired.
The minister-designate told reporters that he received word of his nomination on Tuesday and had worked all night getting ready for his “big day.”
It is just weariness, says Balarabe. I had to travel from Kaduna when I received the news of my nomination yesterday.
“I spent the entire night taking care of the many tasks that needed to be done.
“Pure weariness is the only explanation for what occurred today.
“I want to thank the Senate for their understanding, especially the senators from my state (Kaduna), who have all been gathering around me since yesterday, and the medical staff who took care of me.
“I’m fine right now; there’s nothing wrong with me. What I went through was plain fatigue, which anyone can experience.
