Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, recently shared in an episode of the Afrobeats Podcast that he initially began his career as a disc jockey. Alongside his brother, E-Money, who is also a co-founder of Five Star Music, they both started off as DJs before transitioning into other areas of the music industry.
Kcee mentioned that his father played a significant role in shaping his music career, as he grew up in a household where his father sold records. Even at a young age of 5 or 6, Kcee was already involved in selling records and familiarizing himself with the music of old-school artists.
During his time in secondary school, he not only managed a record store but also performed as a DJ at various parties. Kcee attributes his longevity in the music industry to his ability to recognize a hit song.
