If elected Nigeria’s president next month, Atiku Abubakar has pledged to lead a government that values both women and the youth.

“We want our children to be in our position.” Atiku declared at the Ebonyi Township Stadium, “We are here to bring you up, our youths and our women—we are your parents—and we are bringing you up so that you can succeed us.” We won’t stay there indefinitely. You should succeed us, please. You need to behave responsibly as citizens if you want to succeed. You must be diligent, young people, both men and women. We all had quite difficult upbringings, but we worked very hard. “Work hard, and anything is possible.” “Our young men and women, I want to guarantee you that the next PDP government will be a government for the youth and for the women; the males are few because you are in the majority, and we must recognise that and provide you the opportunity so that you may also be able to be leaders of this nation.”

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed confidence in the PDP’s ability to win Ebonyi State and reiterated his desire to reorganise the country.

“We are certain that the PDP controls this state. As you are aware, I am devoted to resource management, restructuring, and power devolution, and I am aware that the southern states have been calling for it.

“The APC gave up on the restructuring issue. They are a group or coalition that is particularly dishonest. But we mean it when we say we’re devoted to it. “Provide us with the help we will need,” he urged.
