On July 13, 2015, Emma filed a request with the court to end her and the Nollywood actor’s 14-year marriage.
Four children were born into the marriage.
During his appearance as a guest on Hero Daniels’ show Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television, Ike claimed that he had lost properties worth millions of naira due to accusations of violence against his ex-wife.
He added that since the individuals who were allegedly “bullying” him on social media, he refrained from coming out to address the accusations of domestic abuse against him.
Ike stated, “It’s difficult to clarify because the same individuals who were tormenting me online were still there. That’s why I didn’t come on the internet to address the accusations against me. They’re going to tell you to ignore him. He still longs for her. Proceed now.
And you will be crushed if you’re not ready to manage it. St. Nicholas College, my secondary school, was closed down on CMD Road in Magodo. That year, more than N480 million in investments were closed. And all I could hear was batteries all the time. I thought, ‘I can’t win this woman over. What is happening? What’s going on, babe? “I beat you, do I?” they asked.
“And she said, ‘No,'”—my ex-wife. You know, they can always twist things because you’re a star. I was therefore naive till I realised that she was the real mastermind behind it all. Some women are in too much of a rush to get married legally. She also admitted to me once that I’m not the marital type. Furthermore, I didn’t get it. Therefore, young men should be aware that many women today are not the marriage-type.
He said he didn’t realise he wasn’t “loved in return” despite having funded his ex-wife’s further schooling.
The actor claimed that despite his and his family’s entreaties, his ex-wife was resolute about not divorcing him.
“She [my ex-wife] pursued a divorce on her own. “Judge, please divorce me; I want to leave,” she pleaded. “Kilode?” I exclaimed. In what direction are you heading? I knelt down. Felix Duke was bowed down. In court, my sisters were grovelling. Even the individuals who accompanied my ex-wife to the courtroom were bowed. They asked, “Are you alright?” What’s the matter with you? He recalled, “We didn’t know what was going on in her psychology.
Ike stated that he thought his ex-wife had been blackmailed into divorcing him by some “gunmen” she was involved with.
