Nigerian musician Adedamola Adefolahan, better known by his stage as Fireboy DML, has stated that rather than striving for greater prosperity, 2023 has taught him to be content with his fortune and recognise “God’s blessings.”
He claimed that 2023, a “relatively slow year” for him musically, changed the way he viewed the world.

“This year, more than ever, has taught me to take a break, relax, and appreciate God’s blessings instead of chasing more and more success,” Fireboy stated in a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos.
Since this year has been somewhat quiet for me musically, it’s helped me to put things into perspective. I’m thinking maybe it’s time to take a deep breath, decompress, and get off that high. Family is there. Savour the money you have amassed. Give thanks for what you have and give up striving for achievement.
“This year, I’m unwinding.” I’m in the studio recording at home all the time. Sundays are when I play football. And occasionally, I hang out with the ladies when I’m missing their attention.
